WHAT CSI’S NSSA MEMBERSHIP TELLS YOU
The National Security Screen Association (NSSA) is the peak national body representing Australia’s security screen industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and installers. NSSA members commit to industry standards, professional conduct and ongoing compliance requirements. They receive access to current technical and regulatory information and are audited to help ensure security screen products and installation practices remain aligned with Australian Standard AS 5039.
Chalmers Security Installations is a current NSSA member, providing customers with another independent layer of confidence when choosing who will measure, supply and install their security screens. CSI is also a Prowler Proof Authorised Dealer and has successfully completed the Prowler Proof Authorised Dealer Audit.

Australian Standard AS 5039 covers the performance and classification of security screens, how they are installed and the methods used to test their resistance to attempted forced entry.

KNOW WHAT YOU’RE BUYING
Not every screen fitted to a door or window is a security screen. Standard insect screens are designed for pest control rather than forced-entry protection, and adding a pet door to a compliant security screen means the modified screen no longer retains its AS 5039 compliance.
If a product is being supplied as a security screen, look for both the Manufacturing Compliance Label and Installation Compliance Label. These provide the clearest confirmation that the product and its installation meet the applicable Australian Standard.
