BELMONT. HIGH-PERFORMANCE WHOLE-HOME SCREENING
This Belmont residence called for a screening solution capable of matching the scale, finish and technical demands of a high-end architectural home. Across the project, Chalmers Security Installations delivered screening to 40 windows, 16 oversized doors and multiple custom retractable systems, with every element carefully selected to balance security, airflow, visibility and natural light. The project combined Prowler Proof ForceField® and Guardian® systems, six designated hinge windows for fire escape, large-format sliding, centre-opening and stacking doors, and retractable screens spanning up to approximately 3 metres high by 15 metres wide. The home’s BAL requirements, premium textured black finishes and strict no-midrail brief added another layer of technical complexity. Precision problem-solving was central to the result. Custom satin-black tracks were engineered to overcome friction and alignment issues in the sliding systems, while Performance Plus extended striker plates and hidden-fix technology strengthened security without compromising the clean architectural finish. Full manufacturer and installation compliance labelling provided traceability across the project. The finished installation reflects nearly three years of consultation, coordination and craftsmanship, delivering a seamless result that met the client’s expectations for security, performance and premium presentation throughout the home.THE BRIEF

DECOVIEW ENTRY TRANSFORMATION
A modest project with a dramatic result, this DecoView installation transformed a standard front entry into a bold architectural feature.
The existing timber double doors were retained, while a pair of custom DecoView decorative security doors and matching side panel infills were added to create a fully integrated, symmetrical entrance. The geometric design complemented the home’s architecture while adding security, street appeal and a far more refined first impression.
Triple locking systems provided enhanced protection, while the open decorative design preserved airflow, visibility and natural light. Precision was critical throughout the installation, with careful attention to alignment, spacing and consistent reveals across the double doors and side panels.
The result is a strong example of how thoughtful product selection, craftsmanship and attention to detail can completely transform an entry without relying on scale or an excessive budget.

When the answer to “Is it possible?” became yes.
The Sherwood project brought together two very different architectural languages: the character of an older Queensland home at the front and a contemporary extension designed around open-plan indoor-outdoor living at the rear.
At the centre of the project were enormous cavity stacking doors opening towards the patio and pool. Structural limitations meant the original screening concept had to be reconsidered collaboratively. CSI worked with the window manufacturer, builder and other trades to develop a custom tracking solution that could accommodate the security screens while preserving the architectural intent of the extension.
ForceField® was used throughout the home, including hinge window screens, security doors and the large cavity-stacking system. The project involved more than twelve months of coordination and multiple site visits before completion.
The finished installation earned CSI the 2024 NSSA Best Installation, Residential Award, recognising the collaboration, innovation, workmanship and custom screening solution behind the project.

Finding a solution where others said it couldn’t be done.
This Brookfield home presented CSI with a challenge.
The owners wanted to retain their classic double-hung windows while adding security, insect protection and airflow without overwhelming the decorative character of the windows.
Traditional fixed security screens presented a problem because drilling into the existing frames could interfere with the operating hardware.
CSI instead used Prowler Proof ForceField® Hinge Window security screens, together with fixed ForceField® screens and a hinge security door.
The Hinge Window system allowed the screens to be installed without compromising the operation of the windows while retaining access for cleaning and ventilation.
The installation became an NSSA Best Residential Installation finalist in 2022.

Security that disappeared into the architecture.
Nestled into a bushland setting in Brookfield, this Japanese-influenced architectural home was designed around openness, natural light and uninterrupted views.
Its location created an unusually complex screening brief. The homeowners wanted protection from insects and intruders while also addressing the home’s bushfire exposure.
Just as importantly, they did not want security screens to interrupt the expansive glazing or compromise the minimalist architecture.
Prowler Proof ForceField® was installed across the home’s external doors and windows, combining stainless steel security mesh with concealed fixing systems to preserve the clean visual lines of the building.
The finished installation allowed the home to remain open, airy and visually connected to its surroundings while addressing the functional requirements of security, insect protection and bushfire exposure.
The project earned CSI the 2019 NSSA Best Installation, Residential Award.
